Chief Executive Officer
Dr Adam Baker
Dr Adam Baker has founded a number of space technology and service ventures across the UK space sector since 2010.
Since starting his career in industry in 1994, he has worked as a trainee in materials engineering for the European Space Agency, a project manager for QinetiQ, in propulsion, research management and business development functions for Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd, small satellite launch general manager for Virgin Galactic, & as a senior lecturer at Kingston University London and as director of the Rocketlab .
Before founding AMS he was technical director of UK Launch Services, a company he co-founded in 2017 and which continues to provide systems design, safety and operations services to the UK's commercial spaceflight programme. He has practical experience in addressing challenging materials problems for space systems, rocket propulsion and concept design of small spacecraft systems.
Adam has an MEng in materials engineering and a PhD in aerospace composite materials from Oxford University
Chief Operating Officer
Phil Dembo
Philip is a highly experienced project management operative, successfully delivering high profile and challenging programmes and projects in banking, engineering, transport and science research, as a Project Manager and Programme Office Lead. He has a reputation for being self-driven, with a rigorous but pragmatic approach, who always has his focus on delivery.
His experience includes work at Rocket Engineering Ltd, Network Rail, Transport for London, and University of Surrey (Space Robotics Dept)
Chief Technology Officer
Lolan Naicker
Lolan has an academic background in both science and engineering and draws from work experience across the space, bioplastics, consumer electronics, nuclear and petrochemical industries – a wide variety of engineering technologies, regulatory environments, and industry-specific best practices.
His career has largely been based within industry, focused on technical design and development of hardware, and has included aspects of project planning and team leadership necessary for their delivery.
He has worked on space technology research and development for Rocket Engineering Ltd - as principal engineer on system engineering studies including the design/build/test of hardware, and for Moog Inc Space and Defence Group - as technical lead for the design/build/test of an European Space Agency funded spacecraft main engine for the Mars Robotic Exploration Programme.
